Grease industry wastewater usually refers to the wastewater discharged from edible oil refining and processing unit.It mainly includes extraction wastewater,refining workshop hydration wastewater,alkali refining wastewater,cooling water and ground washing water,etc. Different process lead to different pollution loading,COD:2000-7000mg/l,BOD:1500-2500 mg/l,oil:1500-2500mg/l;Wastewater’s grease composition includes suspension oil,emulsified oil,dissolved oil,phospholipids and gleditsia sinensis lam soap.And its suspended matter content is also quite high.Another characteristic of the wastewater is C:N:P ratio is moderate and the biodegradability is good.

Starch and its derivatives wastewater

The main raw materials of starch production are potato,corn and wheat.Potato starch processing wastewater is mainly from transport and washing,separation,starch residue storage tank and condensation units.Separation wastewater is the main wastewater due to its large water volume and high COD,BOD content.Corn starch processing wastewater is mainly from immersion,germ separation,fiber washing,dehydration and other processes.Its water consumption and pollution contents are high,and including massive protein.Wheat starch processing wastewater is mainly from sedimentation tank supernatant liquid and centrifuge dehydration,the former’s organic matter content is low,while the latter’s is high.

Treatment of livestock and poultry breeding wastewater

Livestock and poultry breeding wastewater is mainly from animals manure and house washing,it belongs to high-pollution wastewater.And the key of wastewater treatment is how to remove the ‘three high’(high COD,high SS,high NH3-N) in water. The main raw materials of alcohol production are starchy materials(corn,potato,tapioca) and molasses materials.Production wastewater is mainly from distillation residue---alcoholic fermentation wastewater.The pollutants mainly include:solid insoluble matter,protein,starch,sugar,acid and alkali salt,etc.Its main characteristics are high temperature (up to 100 degrees),high-content suspended matter(general is 10,000-55000mg/l),COD as high as 50,000- 70000mg/l,BOD can reach 20000-40000mg/l,high color,uneven particle size,viscosity,acidic, difficult to treatment,so they are the main pollution source of alcohol industry.

Refinery wastewater is mainly from circulating water,condensate wastwater,washing water,pump cooling water and tank drainage,its composition is complex,contains oil,ammonia nitrogen,phenol,cyanide,benzene,ketone,ether,sulfur,organophosphorus and metal salts,etc.In order to effectively treat the wastewater,it’s usually divided into oily wastewater(major pollutant is oil,and contains sulphide,volatile phenol,etc,color is grayish brown,with petroleum odor),sulfur bearing wastewater(major pollutant is sulphide,and contains high concentration oil,volatile phenol and ammonia nitrogen,color is dark green,and with strong hydrogen sulfide odor and greater-corrosiveness),alkali wastewater (major pollutants are oil and free alkali,and contains sulfide,volatile phenol and naphthenic acids,color is cream white),salinity wastewater(main pollutants are salt,oil and volatile phenol).
